I give up! I thought I would be spending some quality time getting to know and love my nursing bras through this process, but all I've discovered is that plus size nursing bras are NOT made for plus sized women! I bought the largest cup size Motherhood had, but in the long run, my boobs were just spilling out of them. That's not comfortable, and it's certainly not attractive. So I've spent the majority of my motherhood wearing my regular mega-bras and just whipping my breast out over the cup when Jake needed to eat. Not the most comfortable, but it's only for a minutes at a time, so I've learned to live with it.
I guess, then, my conclusion to this bra battle is that, for the super-plus sized nursing woman, the regular, every day bra is your best bet. If only I had a design degree and financial backing, I'd create a line of proper fitting nursing bra's!

Now nursing my second kiddo, I've come to the same conclusion about medium-sized women, too. I've never ever found a nursing bra that was convenient, comfortable or attractive. I always use my regular bra.
ReplyDeleteI know this is old news now but I found your posts on nursing bras most helpful. I'm getting ready to have baby #3 and had mediocre luck w/ bras with the older two. I had hoped to find a good plus size nursing bra this time around but your reviews are the reassurance I need to stick to my old faithful "normal" bra and not bother spending the money on the nursing bras that were clearly intended for a women with much smaller breasts. Thanks! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your input. Now that we're starting to think about baby number 2, the idea of nursing bras is making me shudder. Maybe I'll look to the internet for plus size bras next time to see if any of them are any better, just to give ladies more input.
