While preparing for mom's wake and funeral, I did some research on flowers and their meanings. The meaning of yellow tulips is 'there is sunshine in your smile.' Well, the one thing everyone says about mom is that her smile is amazing. So I now think of it as a yellow tulip smile.
I am only just now reading this, and though it's totally impotent to to help, I am sorry. There's something very frightening hearing about terminal illness in someone else's parents, because it makes you think about your own. I wish it hadn't happened it to you. I wish you could have been spared that kind of grief.
ReplyDeleteBut to everyone who's been paying attention, it's very clear how committed you were to her, and how safe her memory is when she's got someone like you to remember her. I hope I can be as courageous when I am finally called to be.
